In between nature and the cosmopoly
We are Rosa and Francesc. Our home is located in La Garriga, a nearby modernist town in North Barcelona benefiting from great transport links into central Barcelona - less than 30 minutes to Catalunya Square. The beach, the mountains a a lot of touristic places are also very close.
Our house is fully equiped with everything you may need. We have also a swimming pool, perfect to refresh yourself during the summer. Every room in the house have windows to the garden and the living room is big and full of light.
We have some experience in house exchanges, but this is our first time in intervac. Our daugther (ES581688) and family in law (ES1016573) have been using intervac for a while and have strongly recommend it.

La Garriga is a town brimming with heritage and places of interest. You can find prominent archeological sites such as the Roman villa in Can Terrers or a Civil Guard aviation field, as well a variety of architectural features such as medieval castles, churches and chapels from every period, and of course the best examples around of Modernist houses.
However, you can also find a wonderful natural rural environment offering walks and excursions to take you far away from the bustle of the city and find a kind of peace and tranquility hard to come by these days.

Rosa and Francesc have a large clean and comfortable home in a quiet residential area of La Garriga. After a 10 minute walk to the train station, it was about a one-hour ride to central Barcelona. There are also many lovely attractions and cities in Catalonia, by car or by train. Rosa is a great communicator. She answered all our questions before and during our home exchange. When Rosa and Francesc left our home, it was clean and tidy. In short, we had an excellent home exchange.
This was a very positive exchange experience. The house is accurately presented and is very comfortable and very clean, plus the neighborhood it is in is lovely. The town, which is within walking distance, is perfect for a stroll during market day or just to wander around in. The surrounding area offers many attractions--nature parks, mountains, lovely little towns. An added asset is that you can walk to the train station and get a train that puts you in the center of Barcelona in 50 minutes. The trains were on time, clean, and comfortable. Rosa and Francesc left our house in tip-top shape, too. Very good exchange; one of our better ones, and we've done a number of really nice exchanges.
Rosa and Francesc were always prompt in their replies and were very easy to work with as we made the travel and exchange arrangements. They were a delight when we met them (we traveled to Spain before they traveled to our US home) and were very helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. Their home is lovely and was beautifully kept. They left our house in excellent condition. It was a very positive exchange experience!
Rosa's and Frances villa at modernistic town La Garriga, in Katalunya...was one of our best exchanging experiences! The house was a luxus standard villa, big one and the pool was important during this summer's temperatures!! The neighbourhood was very interesting from architectural aspect and it was so fresh because of whole town's altitude, 267m !! Rosa and Fransc helped us and offered a traditional welcome dinner, at Catalan restaurant. The train communication with Barcelona and elsewhere,was easy because the train station was just a 5 min walk from home...maybe shorter! We communicated often by SMS messages and when we returned home, we found it as tidy as like nobody lived in it , those 21 days we were away!
