A comfortable house set in a beautiful bush garden on a creek
The house is set in a very small country village one hour from Melbourne. It has a large, sunny verandah looking out onto the garden and creek, and has visiting animals and birds: kangaroos, echidnas, skinks, cockatoos, magpies, rosellas and many more. My especial pride is the garden, planted with local indigenous plants, and including grand old gum trees and many wattles.

About the neighborhood
My direct neighbours have half acre blocks leading down to the creek, and there are a lot of larger properties tucked away in the bush around the town. There is a village centre, most of it a few minutes' walk down the road, with pub, store, bakery, small primary school, community centre, market place and village hall; and the town Country Fire Authority station next to my house. My situation in the town means I have some security against fires in summer. Further afield there are small farms and horse properties, bushland, the high country national park 13 kilometres away, many bush walks. Also 13 kilometres away is the township of Hurstbridge with excellent shops, and a train station with a direct line to Melbourne. We are in a Green Wedge protected zone.

I have siblings close by, nephews and nieces and many little ones
I live close to my sister and have brothers, one Melbourne and one in Sydney. I have numerous nephews and some nieces, and many great dittoes whom I visit, mostly interstate. I have a very close group of friends with whom I stay regularly. I visit Melbourne to run my landscape gardening business, to enjoy its culture and stay with friends. I also enjoy a close and supportive local community and am a member of Landcare and secretary of the local film group. There are many artists' studios in the area which I enjoy. And my life includes much gardening, naturally.
