Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: Hong Kong International -
Our village is a mix of residential properties, shops and restaurants. Yung Shue Wan gives a Mediterranean feeling when walking through it. In addition to the indigenous residents, the quiet and laid-back lifestyle make it an attractive and popular living location for middle-class expatriates and their families who make the commute daily to Hong Kong Island and beyond. No cars on the island (except for mini sized fire and rescue vehicles) is a refreshing respite from the hustle and bustle of Central. The island is reached by a scenic 25 minute ferry which runs from Central Pier 4 frequently from dawn to midnight.
*How to get to Lamma Island
Lamma is easily accessible via ferry. There are two options for getting to Yung Shue Wan:
From Central (25 minutes)
The ferry to Yung Shue Wan departs from Central Pier 4. Make sure to take the correct ferry as there is a Sok Kwu Wan ferry as well.
From Aberdeen (35 minutes)
Go to the Aberdeen Pier and find the sign for Pak Kok Tsuen and Yung Shue Wan departure. This ferry stops twice with Yung Shue Wan being the last stop.

About Our Family
The Eltings and “gang” are truly a dynamic multicultural family. I’m an American (originally from Pensacola, Florida) and my lovely wife Rebecka is from Stockholm, Sweden. We are both long time residents of iHong Kong. I have been teaching English and Drama for nearly 30 years (gulp). Rebecka is a sourcing manager for fashion and home with a global company. We were married in Katrineholm in July 2023. My 14 year old son Jameson from my previous marriage lives in St. Albert Canada but spends holidays with us. Rebecka’s twin sister is married to an Italian with one daughter and her older sister is married to a Korean with a son and daughter. Mom lives full time in Stockholm and loves to spend time at our country house outside of Katrineholm. A warm and loving blend of our diverse cultures, tastes, values and traditions make every family get-together exciting and memorable Mom will be 80 this year and we hope to find an exchange in Rome for Christmas 2025 as this is one of her wishes. We warmly extend the offer of hospitality for any travelers to Stockholm, Sweden or Hong Kong.
Lifestyle
Red and white wine, good food, great friends, travel & adventure, meeting new people and music pretty much sums up our lifestyle. We work hard and play hard. I love the beach, snorkeling, diving, canoeing, campfires and sunsets. Rebecka loves hiking, team sports and sunrises. I drink coffee. She drinks tea. She reads novels. I read poetry or short stories. We both love art galleries, antiques and live performances of almost every kind.
