Private penthouse villa on the Sea of Cortez!
Casa Sarena is our beloved second home in which we live several months a year. It is truly a home and not a rental property. The villa systems accommodate FOUR PEOPLE MAXIMUM. There are two beds, perfect for two couples or a small family. Sorry, our home is not suitable for small children as there are many high ledges. Mature young people are welcome.
Please see all available dates below. (Smoking and pets on the property are strictly prohibited. Allergy free home.). Our villa is not suitable for people with limited mobility or small children. We have stairs to each level and the possibility of falling from high areas.
Beautiful water-view location. Walking distance to all amenities. Casa Sarena is a lovely penthouse villa in a traditional Mexican hacienda - 2 bedrooms (king master room, queen 2nd room), one bath with an enclosed sunroom and sea view covered terrace. Exchange includes private high speed internet wi-fi. Our housekeeping style is very clean without clutter.
The Sea of Cortez offers fantastic whale watching, deep sea fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, SCUBA, sailing, SUP, amazing beaches, and more! Land-lovers will enjoy pickleball, tennis, golfing, cinema, theaters, culture, art, hiking, biking; the list is endless. We believe Baja California Sur offers the finest seafood in the world. You'll surely enjoy incredible cuisine in La Paz. Baja California has also made unprecedented advancements in the production of wine. Baja has won many awards for our fine wines and we expect to win more!
La Paz is home to one of Mexico's most prestigious marine biology universities, many excellent language schools, and offers year-around concerts, museums, live theater, and cinemas. Several operators offer diving with sea lions near Los Isotes Island, wreck and reef diving, snorkeling with whale sharks, kayaking with wild dolphins, sport fishing, and whale watching -- All in the warm and inviting Sea of Cortez!
Casa Sarena is our second home. Non simultaneous exchanges are easy to arrange. Simultaneous exchanges are possible to preferred locations. Please see the availability schedule below. All inquiries are welcome and encouraged.

Whales can be seen all year, high season for seeing whale calves is Feb-mid April. Snorkel with whalesharks! Sea turtles can often be seen while snorkeling and diving! Do you want to help with hatchling releases? See http://www.todostortugueros.org

Casa Sarena is situated one block from the beach and the malecon, beachside path. All necessities are within walking distance. You'll find some of the finest fresh seafood in the world here in our neighborhood! Our neighbors are beautiful, gracious, and very helpful. (We offer use of our kayaks to home exchange friends. Kayaks listed as "boat" under amenities.)
La Paz is situated in Baja California Sur, on the beautiful Sea of Cortez. La Paz is a city of approximately 250,000 people. It is located 150 km north of Cabo San Lucas. Additionally, the towns of Todos Santos (artist community), Los Barriles (famous wind/kite surfing), and Cabo San Lucas are very popular day trips.
La Paz (LAP) airport and San Jose del Cabo (SJD) offer international flights daily to many locations in USA and Mexico, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Tijuana, Guadalajara and Mexico City. Most flights from other continents travel through Mexico City. La Paz truly is the city of peace, come see for yourself!
