A design house with a pool in Lyon
A design and comfortable family house, with a garden and a private small swimming pool, in a private street, next to the shops and public transports. We can welcome 6/8 persons for a sweet staying in a beautiful city with a wordwilde heritage.
We are next to the aera of Beaujolais, Bourgogne and Cotes du Rhone, by train only 2 hours to Paris or Marseille ( in the South)
We will be happy to welcome you in our urban house

Our house is located at the end of a private dead end, very quiet, 50 m from the Place du Point, where you will find many shops: bakery, patisserie, butcher, grocery, wine, fruit and vegetables, pharmacies, bistros , etc ...
Every Tuesday and Friday morning, the square is animated by a typical market where there are many local producers
Our district, the 5th district of Lyon is that of Fourvière and the banks of the Saone with the foot of the hill, the Old Lyon classified World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This hill whose steep slopes dive literally into the Saone is the mark of an ancient history since it is there that we find the greatest number of vestiges of the Gallo-Roman civilization.
The area offers many walks and large public gardens, with great views of the city and the Alps. On foot, walking or jogging, the famous Basilica of Fourviere and the ancient theater are 30 minutes away.
The city center of Lyon - the "peninsula", between Rhone and Saone is easily reached by bus (10 minutes) or by bike (les Vélo'V lyonnais)

Notre maison est située au fond d'une impasse privée, très calme, à 50 m de la place du Point du Jour, où vous trouverez de nombreux commerces : boulangerie, patisserie, boucherie, épiceries, vins, fruits et légumes, pharmacies, bistrots, etc...
Tous les mardis et vendredis matin, la place est animée par un marché typique où l'on trouve de nombreux producteurs locaux
Notre quartier, le 5ème arrondissement de Lyon est celui de Fourvière et des bords de Saône avec au pied de la colline, le Vieux Lyon classé au Patrimoine Mondial de l'Humanité par l'UNESCO. Cette colline dont les flancs abrupts plongent par endroits littéralement dans la Saône est la marque d'une histoire ancienne puisque c'est là qu'on trouve le plus grand nombre de vestiges de la civilisation gallo-romaine.
Le quartier offre de nombreuses promenades et de grands jardins publics, avec de belles perspectives sur la ville et sur les Alpes . A pied, en marchant ou en footing, la célèbre basilique de Fourvière et le théatre antique sont à 30 minutes.
Le centre ville de Lyon - la "presqu'ile" , entre Rhône et Saône se rejoint très facilement en bus ( 10 minutes) ou en vélo ( les Vélo'V lyonnais)

La maison est un havre de paix, de couleurs et abrite différentes expressions artistiques déposées ici et là avec grand soin. La maison est localisée dans un petit village au cœur même de la ville. Les attraits de Lyon sont facilement accessibles. La verdure et le clocher de l’église complémentent le décor. Cette belle rencontre avec Hélène et Bernard a été un réel bonheur. C’est un privilège que de bénéficier de leur amitié. Bien entendu, notre maison et notre auto étaient impeccables à notre retour. N’hésitez pas…

On arrival there was a welcome pack including speciality food and drink from the region; a fridge full of food and a friendly neighbour to show us round.
The house is STUNNING (the photos don’t do it justice) the garden is magical and look lovely too.
The street they live on is so pretty with shops, restaurants and a market nearby. It was a gorgeous place to stay. They generously loaned us their car too.
Sadly, Hélène was ill so they didn’t manage to make the exchange to our home; instead finding accommodation with friends. We will invite them to our home another time to ensure they get to spend time in our house!
We loved this exchange and meeting H&B. They are very special, kind and warm-hearted people with a lovely home.

It was not entirely clear that they would be present in the adjoining home and using the garden and pool for the entirety of our stay.
That said they were most solicitous and helpful hosts and the property had been recently renovated to a very high standard and was extremely confortable and spotlessly clean. Also they were extremely generous and provided us with a very well stocked fridge.

IS452989Very nice house with wonderful garden. Good to be able to cool down in the swimming pool when it is hot outside. House owners where very helpsome and polite. Only short distance to bakery, market, grocery shops and a meat/fish shop. The home exchange was a pleasant experience for us - family of five.
