We are looking for an exchange from 27th/28th December 2024 through to Jan 14th 2025 to Sydney, Australia for 2 weeks. |
Large family home, on the outskirts of Dublin city, South County Dublin, Ireland.
Cabinteely, in Irish Cábán tSíle meaning 'Sheilas Cabin' is a suburb of Dublins Southside. 8 minutes drive from the sea, within 20 minutes drive to the Wicklow mountains. Our home is situated just a stroll from excellent amenities to include the N11 with regular bus routes into the city, to the airport or into the countryside. Adjacent to Kilbogget Park with its playing pitches, playground, running track and waterway, a short stroll to 110 acres of 'The Park' parkland and close to a host of convenient stores and a local pub. The accommodation is a double fronted, detached two story residence which can accommodate guests with limited mobility as we have a double bedroom and bathroom/shower facilities on the ground floor area as well as living quarters upstairs.
We have a terrace area out the back of the house with comfortable seating and a gas BBQ. We have an electric car charging point at the front of the house.

Cabinteely lies around the crossroads of Johnstown Road / Brennanstown Road and the Old Bray Road. Much of Cabinteely is parkland (Cabinteely Park and Kilbogget Park) or open countryside (around Laughanstown and Brennanstown).
The area has prehistoric ties - there is a tomb known as Brennanstown Portal Tomb, Glendruid cromlech/dolmen, or The Druids' Altar near Cabinteely. Cabinteely sits at the meeting point of the three medieval civil parishes of Tully, Kill and Killiney, in the half-barony of Rathdown. The ruins of Kill Abbey/Grange Church are near Deansgrange. Cabinteely House and its outbuildings while not open day-to-day, are often open for cultural events and historical tours.
The modern suburb of Cabinteely is still split between these civil parishes. Cabinteely today borders Carrickmines, Cornelscourt, Foxrock, Johnstown, and Killiney. It is located in South County Dublin, near the sea and the mountains of Wicklow. Locally, within a short walk there is a pub, church, library, restaurants, hairdressers, barbers, nail spa, convenience stores as well as several parks.
Our road is a safe cul de sac, with a private walkway into the adjacent park. It runs parallel to the N11 bus corridor for ease of getting around.
