4-BR nice house near Washington, DC. Seeking Spring19 exchange when DC hosts Cherry Blossoms Festival https://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org - the Carolinas (North-South) near beach/lake. And Cape Cod, MA, Mexico, Bahamas/beach for summer 2019.

SUMMARY OF THE AREA and neighborhood:
— DC is an important city, and New York Times wrote in 2016 why it’s fun to visit - go to #26 at this link https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/01/07/travel/places-to-visit.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0
— DC hosts the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Spring 2019 (late March to mid-April) https://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org, so it’s a very good time to exchange during school
Holidays (we are looking to exchange April 13-20, 2019)
— The National Mall in DC has 13 world-class museums with no entrance fee! Greater DC area has 6 other Smoithsonoan museums/zoo that are free. DC competes with Paris from
the museum standpoint and you may need multiple trips to see them! More information here - https://www.si.edu and https://www.nga.gov/visit.html
- Since our house is near the Metro (local train) it is only 15-20 min from all the monuments like the White House, 10 Smithsonian museums and the famous National Gallery of Art. The nearest Metro station from our house is an 8-minute walk
- Georgetown, where many restaurants, shopping and famous people’s homes (The Clintons, Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Kennedy owned homes here at some point) - this is 15-20 minutes by car or train from our house
- DC has a wonderful food scene including some of the best ethnic restaurants like Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Mexican, Brazilian and East Asian cuisine.
- It is a good city base with a cosmopolitan feel and comforts of an international city while being close to the Shenandoah mountains for hiking, river tubing, camping (we can lend gear) for outdoor activities; and beautiful beaches in Delaware, Maryland (see the Assateague Island link below)
- A blossoming wine industry in Virginia and Maryland with beautiful picnic/hiking spots, restaurants and overnight accommodations. Our favorites are http://canavineyards.com and http://www.chrysaliswine.com
- Winter ski resorts/runs within 1-4 hours’ drive (links below)

IF YOU WISH TO EXPLORE OUTSIDE DC (NEW YORK, ATLANTIC OCEAN BEACHES, CAMPING-HIKING AND WINERIES NEARBY, or SKI in WINTER)
- If you like wineries, they are 30 minutes or more away
- Shenandoah National Park is 90 minutes away with camping facilities (we are happy to lend our gear) beautiful views and hiking trails - https://www.nps.gov/shen/index.htm
- Ocean City, Assatesgue Island National Seashire and Chincoteague beaches with wild horses are 2-3 hours away - https://www.nps.gov/asis/index.htm
- New York City is 4 hours by car (or DC-NY bus or train hassle-free and cost effective)
- One-day or few day’s trip to the historic city of Philadelphia where the US constitution was written is 2.5 hours away - https://www.visitphilly.com/articles/philadelphia/must-see-attractions-philadelphia/#vp-article-section--item-1
- Ski options in winter (Nov - March) within 1-4 hours' drive from the house are Snowshoe - https://www.snowshoemtn.com, Timberline - http://timberlineresort.com/mountain.php, and Liberty - https://www.libertymountainresort.com
